Dr. Teri Turner named Assistant Dean of Graduate Medical Education

Teri Turner, MD, MPH, MEd, has been appointed Assistant Dean of Graduate Medical Education at Baylor College of Medicine.

In the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Turner is professor, vice chair of education and the Martin I. Lorin, MD, Endowed Chair in Medical Education.

The incoming president of the Academic Pediatric Association, Dr. Turner is recognized as a national and international leader in graduate medical education. She was recently selected to serve on the International Competency Based Medical Education Collaborative and the American Board of Pediatrics Committee on Competency Based Medical Education. She founded the Center for Research, Innovation and Scholarship at Texas Children’s Hospital and has received numerous awards for her teaching, curricula, educational research and program leadership.

Dr. Turner earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She completed her residency and an Academic General Pediatric fellowship at Baylor. Board-certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Dr. Turner has a master’s degree in education from the University of Houston and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
