Department of Pediatrics 2020 Annual Report
Texas Children’s cardiology & heart surgery ranks no. 1 for fourth consecutive year

For the fourth year in a row, Texas Children’s Hospital is the best place in the country for children who need pediatric cardiology and heart surgery. The multidisciplinary team at Texas Children’s Heart Center® combines cutting-edge technology with a compassionate and family-centered approach to care. Cardiologists, congenital heart surgeons, cardiac anesthetists and cardiac intensivists work together to treat some of the rarest and most complex heart cases from Houston and around the world.

In addition, Texas Children’s ranks fourth among all children’s hospitals nationally and in the top 10 in nine of U.S. News & World Report-recognized pediatric subspecialties. Seven Texas Children’s subspecialties rank in the top five, including neurology & neurosurgery and nephrology, which both rank second. Texas Children’s is one of only 10 children’s hospitals across the country to achieve Honor Roll designation, and the only hospital in the state of Texas awarded this distinction.
